Bio & Other Information

Arlene Spinosa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Bonner General Behavioral Health. She has been here 5 years and enjoys working as a team member in this clinic. Prior to obtaining her LCSW, she had over 5 years of experience working with teens in wilderness therapy and 2 years in residential care. She also worked as a CBRS (community-based rehabilitation services) provider for over three years. Today, she enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds. While most of her work is with individuals, she understands that there will be times when integrating families into the healing process is critical for changes to take place.

Arlene has always been fascinated by people and the things we do to survive tough situations or experiences. She enjoys the opportunity to work with individuals and learn more about themselves. She understands the importance of empowering clients and working with them using a collaborative approach to reach their specific goals. She works with individuals with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), trauma-related disorders, autism, and psychotic disorders. She utilizes various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She also sees how important it is to work on stress reduction strategies, as this can exacerbate symptoms and unwanted behaviors. She also encourages the use of a customized self-care plan. Some of her past work with young children helped her realize that we are never too old to play. She believes play offers a therapeutic benefit that can have a healthy and meaningful impact on our overall well-being. Her specialty is her compassion for helping people, and she uses a combination of client-centered, strength-based, and holistic approaches with clients.
