Maggie Waugaman, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner committed to serving rural and underserved communities. She believes meaningful mental health care begins with understanding the whole person and the connection between mental, physical, and emotional health. She has extensive training in psychiatric assessment and treatment, and her practice is rooted in evidence-based care, thoughtful diagnosis, supportive psychotherapy, and safe prescribing.
She recognizes that wellness is shaped by many factors, including physical health, sleep, environment, nutrition, stress, trauma, life experiences, and community connection. She works with patients to explore how these influences affect mental health and overall quality of life, integrating them into treatment plans that support meaningful change.
Maggie provides care across the lifespan and treats a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma-related disorders, and other psychiatric concerns. Her approach is holistic, person-centered, and collaborative, and she prioritizes creating a safe and inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds and identities.
She works with patients to identify goals, deepen self-understanding, and develop treatment plans that are practical, informed, and aligned with their values. Her intention is to empower patients with knowledge, tools, and strategies so they can move toward greater stability and wellbeing. She collaborates closely with patients, healthcare team members, and community resources to support ongoing progress and care.
Outside of work, Maggie enjoys traveling, climbing mountains, sailing, listening to live music, and spending time in the beauty and community of North Idaho.
