Mercedes Dirks is a Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, community-centered care. Her journey into nursing began in her teenage years, where she was inspired by the kindness and skill she witnessed in the nurses who cared for her mother during breast cancer treatment. That experience shaped her commitment to supporting patients and families through every stage of health.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wyoming, Mercedes built her clinical foundation in emergency medicine, medical-surgical nursing, and postpartum care. Her passion for rural healthcare took root when she relocated to her husband’s hometown of Naples, Idaho. For the past few years, she has served the community at both Bonner General Health and Boundary Community Hospital, where she developed a deep appreciation for the close-knit nature of rural medicine and the opportunity to care for patients of her community.
Mercedes recently completed her Master of Science in Nursing–Family Nurse Practitioner program at Walden University. Her clinical interests include pediatrics, women’s health, and comprehensive family care, and she is committed to building trusting, long-term relationships with the individuals and families she serves.
Outside of her professional life, Mercedes enjoys hiking, camping, reading, and experimenting in the kitchen with cooking and baking. Above all, she loves spending time with her husband and their baby girl, embracing the joys of family life in the Idaho mountains.
